Great Lakes Caring Provides Peace with Psychiatric Nursing

Individuals suffering from the distressing effects of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, depression or other mental health disorders can now receive specialized care at their place of residence with Psychiatric Services offered through Great Lakes Caring. These services utilize a combination of industry-standard mental health assessments and individualized therapy techniques. They are designed to prevent further decline in both the mental and physical health of the patient, as well as provide crisis management planning and mental health education to the patient and his or her family.

“Throughout the home health industry, there is somewhat of a void in terms of specialized care for mental health patients, as most focus is placed on treating patients for comorbid conditions or rehabilitation from surgeries,” says Great Lakes Caring CEO William Deary. “Because of this, we saw an opportunity to provide patients, who have a very unique and complex set of health care needs, with superior quality health care in the comfort, security and privacy of the places they call home.”

With Psychiatric Home Health Services, nurses and therapists specifically trained in psychiatric care comprehensively assess, address and monitor the needs of patients. They follow a plan of care, developed in conjunction with the patient, his or her family and their physician, which details the therapy, personal care and health care services necessary to help the patient maintain a high quality of life.

Psychiatric Services are now available for current Great Lakes Caring patients, as well as those who are not presently under the care of Great Lakes Caring, if prescribed by a physician.
