Great Lakes Caring is a Medicare-certified agency that provides the highest quality, most-advanced health care and medical services, all while allowing you to remain in the comfort, security and privacy of the place you call home.
Health care in your residence is exactly that—health, social and personal care services received in the place you call home, as opposed to receiving hospital-based care. With home health care, you can recover from an illness, be treated for a disability or rehabilitate from surgery safely, without the need to be hospitalized or sent to a care facility for extended periods of time.
Standard services of home health care include skilled nursing, physical, occupation and speech therapy, medical social work, and personal care assistance, though additional services are often available. Home health care agencies also vary in size and location. Every agency has unique service areas dependant on its capabilities and Medicare-certification status, and is also required to have on-call nurses whom are contacted when dealing with after-hours or weekend emergencies.
Home health care is most often prescribed by physicians, or referred to you as you are discharged from a hospital. However, you can REQUEST home health care on your own, and it is your CHOICE to decide where you receive home health care.
