Tevi Troy, the former Deputy Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, toured the new headquarters of Great Lakes Caring on a nationwide tour of industry-leading and visionary health care facilities in an effort to promote good, value-driven health care for the American people.
Mr. Troy, who paid his visit with Congressman Tim Walberg, toured our facility with the interest of learning about the value-driven operations and processes at Great Lakes Caring, how they are implemented and how they can be applied around the country.
“I’m incredibly impressed with this facility,” said Troy, “It’s paperless; it’s patient-driven; it’s value-driven; architecturally, it’s very impressive, and it really recognizes the future of health care.”
Value-driven health care describes a type of health care that gives patients the power to make informed decisions based on cost and quality of the health care services being considered. The ever-persistent rising cost of health care is driving the industry to make this transition to a more informed type of decision-making, which, in turn, causes the standard of care delivered by health care providers to rise. This is undoubtedly the future of the health care industry, and Great Lakes Caring is leading the way.
“If you look at the Home Health Compare website, Great Lakes is ranked number one in terms of Michigan home health facilities,” Said Troy, “I know William is quite proud of that, and I’m here to recognize and appreciate what they’ve done.”
