Great Lakes Caring Hospice Announces its 2013 Jackson Volunteer of the Year
April 2013 National Volunteer Month Honoree
Jackson resident Darlene Weaver (center) was recently honored with Great Lakes Caring’s Annual Hospice Volunteer of the Year Award.
She volunteers through Great Lakes Caring’s Jackson Branch and visit with patients at several different skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, or in their homes. Darlene has volunteered over 50 hours within the past year visiting with patients and reading to them. Cheryl Karasek, Great Lakes Caring Hospice Volunteer Coordinator, said “There have been numerous times when Darlene has made a notable impact on patients and families. She also seems to understand her patients and their needs.
