Great Lakes Caring Home Health and Hospice Named One of the 2018 Best Employers in Ohio

(March 20, 2018) Great Lakes Caring Home Health and Hospice (“Great Lakes Caring”) was recently named of the 2018 Best Employers in Ohio for the fourth consecutive year. This annual list was created by the Ohio SHRM State Council and Best Companies Group.

Adam Nielsen, Chief Executive Officer of Great Lakes Caring, credits his employees’ dedication to delivering superior quality health care, their commitment to industry-leading patient satisfaction, and their support and respect for their fellow employees as reasons for the company’s ability to be selected for the 2018 Best Employers in Ohio award.

“Our employees play a crucial role in making a difference in the lives of those we serve every day,” said Nielsen. “We believe we have a responsibility to be a great place to work for our employees and we invest in innovation, equipment and technologies to make them successful. If we did not have our extraordinary staff who are committed to value, superior quality, and patient satisfaction, we would be just like all of the other home health care companies," he noted.

This recognition comes at a time when Great Lakes Caring is expanding their footprint, now serving 30 counties in Northern Ohio.

“We have increased our workforce by over 90 employees in Ohio this past year and expanded our regional hub in Mentor to meet the growing home health care needs of the community,” said Kelly Brown, Ohio Home Health Executive Director. “Great Lakes Caring has also increased our collaborative partnerships with local hospital systems to ensure patients receive the right care, at the right time, in the right place – in their home.”

“The growth in Ohio is no doubt related to the fabulous work that our clinicians do every day,” shared Chief Business Officer Joe Mooney. “It is a true testament to the care that our clinicians provide in the homes of our patients. The medical community continues to recognize the excellent clinical outcome scores that Great Lakes Caring has demonstrated over the years. They trust us to provide a high level of medical care in the home.”

This statewide survey and awards program is designed to identify, recognize and honor the best places of employment in Ohio, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. The 2018 Best Employers in Ohio list is made up of 33 companies.
